I'm 31, been a fan since I was 10 years old. His resurgence in '04 is what made my mom show me Purple Rain and it was a wrap.

I bought Little red Corvette, the single, and went from there to 1999 in 1982

59 here. I was 16 when I discovered Prince through local radio.

got turned into a Prince fan in 1985, when I was 8 years old, by my older cousin who made me a mixtape of the PR lp, without Baby I'm a star, but with Raspberry Beret instead

Very similar story, late 40s, started my fandom of Prince mid-80s due to Purple Rain.

Saw him live dozens of times, loads of aftershows, so I'm glad I made the most of the opportunity while he was still with us.

That's really cool, actually!
Back when MTV was a new "media" in 1981, i was hooked on that visual to music.
Then i witnessed MJ.
Then i could see Prince.
Then i went to see the PR movie.
