Slow love is quite funny in the end.
There was some doubt over the date as Prince would be in Loas Angeles.
There is also a pitch corrected version version going round.

Is this the rehearsal the NPGMC track, Rebirth Of The Flesh (Rehearsal) comes from? It's listed as Rehearsal '88, but 87 would make more sense I would think.

EDIT: Checked princevault and yes, it seems to be the same rehearsal. Cool!

I almost skipped Slow Love, I mean, 15Min?, but rather I skipped ahead to be sure...

So glad I didn't skip it, that was fantastic!!

Thanks to the leakers, the bootleggers and those that share!!!

Usual Eye Record shit release made by deaf people.
Find the corrected version or better yet the full version instead of this edited and faded out version.

For the people behind the private servers or bootlegs , please contact people like Foefur to fix tape, dropout of pitch speed problems. New releases or drops nearly all have issues. Just a thought.

Without asking too much, indeed I would have appreciated not edited version of this release. Maybe full version doesn't exist.

Everyone’s had enough of the current Estate.

They keep fumbling the legacy, so… long live the bootleggers!

It does, because it was shared on a private server when this one leaked (partly).

That's harsh.

Were it not for Eye, we wouldn't have a lot of soundboard live/rehearsals (the recently leaked "Purple Underground").
Not to mention all of this didn't cost you a buck.

Also, while I agree that a lot of "remasters" on them are way overcompressed or badly EQ'd, their BOTP series were still the best thing happening since "The iVault" series when they came out.

Yes, some unreleased classics are to be found elsewhere in better quality, but their "Glamorous Life" is better than the one that was released on Originals, "Next Time Wipe The Lipstick Off Your Collar" with accordion and the Linn is phenomenal, the string quartet soloed track from "Purple Rain" (full version) is magical.

We ought to be thankful to any bootleg label putting so much effort to give fans a comprehensive views of the golden years. A lot of folks wouldn't be there whining "we need a better version of" without their releases.

So much effort LOL.
All that shit leaked in better quality for free before they relesed there maimed version and asked people to pay for it, fuck Eye Records and the deaf person spoiling these tracks just so they can 'remaster' them again and scam fans into paying for it again.

I hear you.
I never paid a dime to them, so I may be biased.
I agree, their mastering is akin to butchery most of the time.

Then again, even a little effort doesn't have to be free.
I don't see why bootleggers should all run a charity.

Destroying good material isn't worth paying for especially not on some bootleg.

Don't trust Princevault because it's not the same as the NPGMC track. That NPGCM version was from a rehearsal/soundcheck in '88/89 for teh Japanese leg of the Lovesexy tour.

Is there details of what this reheasal was for and who's in the band?

Sounds like a rehersal for a tour with these songs, which is really interesting!!

Some have said it's from a shortlived idea for a stage show that eventually evolved into othwer abandoned stage plays (the Dawn, Graffiti Bridge and who knows what else).

I feel that—given the way The Estate works and offers us little of interest—the bootleggers and those so-called elite traders occasionally release something far more interesting.

And that, to be honest, is the kind of news that has been much more appreciated (here) in recent years.

It's even more of a highlight for most fans here, like me.

The reactions say it all.

I get much more excited when a bootleg leaks, no matter what quality tbh... than when yet another Dolby Atmos, splatter vinyl, or socks and sheets are officially released.

Seems more like a tour rehearsal as P shouts San Franciso during Rebirth of the Flesh.

Slow Love...

Boni and Wally?

Good God! wink

-

"...squeez my cherry baby

so the juice can run down my legs

and when you're finished with that

you know what i want you to to do daddy

I want you to sit up and beg

Just like you do every night

Wally say 'i'm hungry'

-

You can put your big thighs around my neck

and then you show me where it's at

I just wanna aaaawwwhhhh

If you don't believe

just turn around and please me

I choke ya

I choke ya

Then I stroke ya

I choke ya

I'm a doctor feelgood

every night..."

-

Good ol' times. biggrin

That's the point I'm trying to make.

If one even spits on the material that is graciously shared between fans (bootleggers end up... bootlegged), nothing will ever satisfy you.

I don't understand the childish attitude that goes "We need more Vault!". Especially with the bastards now seemingly intent to destroy Prince's Work until no one will care about him (except for us, but we're lucky enough to know the whole picture).

It's time for some fans to wake up and realize we got the cream of the crop decades ago. What's left are curiosities and interesting work-in-progress nuggets.

Nowadays I find my joy in live audience recordings, aftershows, soundchecks and rehersals. Even some mediocre sounding ones can be fantastic, recently I found gems from the Lovesexy tour. They're testament to how much excitement Prince's concerts brought, how far above he was of all his contemporaries. Aside from competition-having-their-ass-kicked (competition? What competition?) considerations, it's the spirit in them I find uplifting.

There's a good soul on YT that seems to have every live bootleg ever recorded in his record collection. He's been sharing a new live recording every day for months now. Some are soundboards (I always miss the crowd feedback in these), some sound like they've been recorded from the arena's toilets but hey, it's already a miracle some of them used professional walkman to record these shows. That was the time when cassettes reign supreme.

Will they all satisfy the anal retentive audiophiles?
Certainly not, some stuff hisses like crazy,
but they're full of life, and that's where I get my kicks.

I don't know about U, but what makes a world of difference between Prince's music and the rest of the pop, is the vibrant, joyous, playful mood it puts your soul into.

Prince's Live Work is the best natural antidepressant there is.

Maybe it's where the fan frustration originates from: we would love for the rest to experience what we experience. Therefore an unstoppable anger at the Estate and the scandalous waste and ruin they insist on bringing.

What can I say? Maybe we were some kind of chosen ones.
I feel lucky to be a Prince fan, and always will.

And the great fun of 'U Got The Look', what a version! Love the different breaks.

Nice syhths and horns in Starfish...

Can't get enough of it.
