Mattera is also the compiler of the 3CD set "Dearly Beloved: A Prince Songbook". Here is an interview with him about that set: https://theseconddisc.com...interview/

That "guitar solo" at the end of the extended "Sugar Walls" is just yucky (is that really Prince?)!
Plus, the final keyboard lick reminded me of the intro to "Mr. Roboto" lol

The title song Strut which I had never heard before is now probably one of my favourite of her songs, it's catchy as hell. This is a great set.

The "Alternate Version" of Eternity is the most notable. It's obvious from a listen that it's an earlier mix (From Feb '87, I believe?), without the dramatic sound effects, guitar, and the "ba-ba-ba's" from the intro. The lead vocal seems to be a different take, with the backing vocals mostly sounding like the released, just with less of them. Seems Prince (Or whoever) played more with pitching up vocals on the backgrounds at parts, making for an interesting sound. I like this simpler sound.

.

The alt Shep mix is not interesting in the slightest, in my opinion. Has an annoyingly long intro.

.

I prefer these "Original" Keith Cohen mixes over Shep's. Especially the 12", but I've never though Shep was great at mixing slow tracks.

.

Cherry Red did a great job with the Sheena EMI reissues. Hopefully they can get the rights to the MCA side of things, and get us some new Sheena x Prince. Doubt it, but we can dream.

Screaming. Panting. Making Noise.

Strut sounds like it has some Prince elements to it
