Netflix just made a deal to buy Warner Bros. They will now own DC, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes and Purple Rain. I'm not seeing anything about whether or not deal includes WB Records.

I assume they will own Purple Rain, Under The Cherry Moon & Grafitti Bridge as well as Batman. So, I guess there will be no synergy of soundtrack & movie releases. But as long as Netflix has nothing to do with a Parade or Purple Rain SDE then I'm relieved. Batman will be interesting though, as I assume Netflix will acquire the copyright for batman characters & logos creating a nescesity for some kind of licensing deal for future rereleases. Maybe a copyright expert can will come along and clear that up for us.
