November 18 is Prince Night on Dancing with The Stars.

Each team will dance to two songs, as grouped below. Songs will include:

Little Red Corvette (Argentine Tango)

Purple Rain (Viennese Waltz)

Baby I'm A Star (Jive)

Wow (Viennese Waltz)

1999 (Cha Cha)

Slow Love (Viennese Waltz)

I Would Die 4 U (Tango)

Kiss (Cha Cha)

I Wanna Be Your Lover (Fox Trot)

When Doves Cry (Paso Doble)

Raspberry Beret (Jive)

U Got The Look (Argentine Tango)

The songs in any show are rarely really meant to reflect the dance or vice versa. They're sorta slapped together. So don't overthink the pairings.

They missed out on not doing a routine to Question of U - as a dancer I ofc will be watching but the song selection is disappointing. & fyi it will be the house band singing abridged versions of these songs so buckle in 😂

Wow is such an outlier on this list - I'm glad something post-1986 got on there, but if you'd given me 50 guesses, I wouldn't have got that.

Yeah, I agree. "Wow" was a really outside choice, but with Liv's recent rendition of it on AGT etc., I suppose someone did their homework. "Slow Love" sorta is, too. I mean, why not "Adore" or "The Beautiful Ones" if they wanted a ballad?

I'm looking forward to the show. It must be a good season. I hear about it all. the. time. it seems these days.

Just waiting on Sheila to show up and claim she wrote all the songs. lol

So far, no house band. Just edited versions of the actual songs. They open with a group dance to "Let's Go Crazy," then a retrospective of his career, then right into the couples. First up, "I Wanna Be Your Lover." The band is adding a "final" ending on songs and it blends in well.

Edit: Well spoke too soon on that. "Little Red Corvette" was the house band. ha

The dance to Little Red Corvette was the only one that wasn't painful to watch. But at least the Estate shared vault video footage tonight with a crowd that couldn't care less, lol.

I strongly disagree - the opening number, Baby I'm a Star and Purple Rain were b
Very good! I was surprised at how well some of these danced as most of the time when I see dance to Prince music it's awful

There wasn't a second of vault footage. The montage at the start is all footage that was released decades ago.

There was a routine mid-show to a clip from the Musicology tour. Wouldn’t that qualify?

Yes, Carlton said it was from the vault and it was new to me. But who knows?

Ah yes, there was a blink and you'll miss it moment where some dancers were dancing to such a clip.

A 30-second clip on a massive screen dominating the stage followed by a statement from the host talking about how it's from the vault, along with talk of a social media challenge directly related to the clip.

I guess that's as close as we're going to get to a "yeah, I was wrong" from Bart, considering he specifically said "there wasn't a second of vault footage."

I had skipped through a video of the whole show and hadn't even noticed that tiny segment.

.

It's hilarious that they didn't use it in the career retrospective, while constantly using Syracuse footage.

This is fabulous news! Hopefully the adoption of a prince themed episode can lead to similar ratings boosts for more reality competition television series! Gordon Ramsey must be licking his chops!
