As much as I like the "Forever In My Life" groove of Face 2 Face... Why does his voice sound so odd?

AI is so clever these days I imagine that someone could have taken the lyrics that were discovered recently and had AI create Prince sounding vocals over an existing song.

It just doesn't sound right to me. But maybe that's just me!

^listen to it back to back with the seven (e flat version ) and I think you'll get the vibe he was going with.

This version of The Ryde Divine is missing a few overdubs that are present on the boot we've had for years. I don't recall which section it was but when I dropped both tracks into Soundforge, you could clearly see where the audio differs.

Considering how good the D&P vault songs sounded, I find this slightly odd....was the leak digitally degraded ever so slightly?

I think several of the D&P Vault tracks sounded worse - duller - than the previously circulating boots. Same goes for these.

Which do you mean? I thought most of the D&P vault tracks were stellar. Pain had an issue with his lead vocals being on one side for a bit of the song…

Hard to explain, but I also feel something's off on the sound of some of the official release over the boots. Like some gloss is missing or something. Dunno...

My feeling is that there is something odd happening, I can't put my finger on it....

1000 Hugs - just too much hiss, distracting whacking in the back...tape hiss is obvious.

Uncle Sam - good sound, but, there is an odd line sung by Prince that's way louder than anything else. Again, it could be just his choice but, seems odd.

With This Tear - just as he starts to sing at 8 sec, there is a imperfection...possibly just tape quality but, odd.

Blood Is Thicker/House In ORder - these sound degraded...like, def less quality than the released versions on Mavis' album.

Overall, I believe the sound can be better. A lot of the D&P Vault tracks are def cleaner. Something is up here.

Regarding Diamonds & Love, I bet whoever leaked this is awaiting Eye Records to release their nth volume of Blast From The Past and then leak the proper lossless tracks

A better quality version is now circulating, because 128kbps is just crazy in 2025.

Incorrect - the m4a files are converted from the original 24-bit lossless files. They're not anywhere near as compressed as the 128kbps mp3s.
