Well thats why he didnt release some of them. However I think theres a lot of enjoyment to have out of this set. The Love tracks has made a big difference for me. I also wasnt really feeling the DaP outtakes etc. These newer tracks I really like a lot. I have been playing them contantly. I would like them on a proper pressed cd though, and would pay for that.

I only have 60 tracks. Is there a tracklist somewhere I could check to see what I'm missing?

I thought the same, but looked at the filenames and found there was duplicate
numbering.

Totally agree.

Most of the tracks scream for desperation to be still relevant at the start of the '90s. Are they well executed? Yes, but that is to be expected. Musically, they're simply atrocious.

I guess it appeals to those who have a knack for this lame, horrible genre that was New Jack Swing.
Thank God he went rogue after that, before falling again for it with Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic.

That said, it's great to have some "classics" in FLAC ("Schoolyard", "Get Blue"...). Still, it's a lot of gigabytes for just a handful of relevant entries.

There aren't that many tracks in the "full set" that aren't different from what's been leaked. There are a couple of minor of edits here and there. As far as tracks that were played at Celebration are concerned, they may have been dug out of the vault at the time, but they weren't seriously considered for the D&L set.

Also, no one has mentioned, but along with the FLAC leak (which is simply an upgrade of the mp4 leak, with the Diamonds tracks) also contained an excel workbook containing some information about what has been logged in WB's archive. There are a few interesting things in there.

I didn't want to get into it because I'm not expert. And dont want to sound bitchy, ungrateful. Because im am thankful to have these. But I will tell you all my thoughts, conclusion. Bear with me.

Fist there is a Audio analyzer on line. https://www.verifaiaudio.com It will check your file and tell you the quality of the source. Lossless, lossy 128-256, 320kbp. No need to upload any files. It scans your file through your browser. According to Google (if you believe that) it says its s safe site to use. And It takes seconds. And gives you some specs on the file. its FREE to use. One file at a time


With this new updated leak so called 24bit. I tested about 5 tracks that we already have from the Diamonds and Pearl SDE, No surprises, they all came back. Lossless, Excellent quality
[Added] i checked them all. Read below]

But when you check some of the files from Diamonds And Love leaks. They come back lossy/mp3 source. Some tracks vary from 128/256 320. I dont remember the exact amount of tracks, but somewhere around 12 of the track came back Lossless !

Does this mean the 18 lossy were mp3 rips?
Maybe not because some of the tracks on the official Diamonds and Pearls SDE come back as lossy quality


Now when I got the m4a files. I tested them all! and saved screen shots of all the results. I checked about 5, 6 files from this 24bit/flack file to compare. Guess what, the analysis results are praticly identical. This leads me to belive someone encoded the 24bit flac files into aplle lossless, which explains why they are same quality (the HF Energy vairy by verry little) my guess 16bit vs 24bit?

I will say i did not test all the files in this 24bit/flac set. I'm in no mood to sort it all out 😂 I'm sure it take an hour or less. But still its gonna sit there for a while

I will also note, i didn't compare to see if there's any difference in the sound or edits, Dimond and pearl SDE and the ones on this set, but as (I recall) all the times are exactly the same as the released, some were a second less.

An analysis on the quality of the D&P SDE tracks vs the ones on the leak set agsin are practically identical



Now on the mp3 files. I noticed a few tracks are longer, maybe different source?
Some examples are already posted

Again I'm not expert, I can be totally wrong on everything. I have no clue where the files originate. I will just save a copy of all files for now

Oh also, im not sure how accurate that analiyser website is

Like some unknown info about some songs from 1999 album sessions !

Wow, I really disagree with that take, and all the negative takes here.

There's so much great stuff here... yes by definition they are outtakes and demos from a specific era, perhaps not the most beloved era due to the rap and new jack swing thing, and they are ultimately things not chosen to be released, but it's SUCH a tantalizing peek behind the curtain no? Like, hearing stuff in a more embryonic form, hearing early ideas for tracks, unfinished ideas, and hearing Prince's vocal on songs intended for other artists like Rosie, Tevin, Margie, Elisa, Mayte etc. Honestly I think it is incredible. 2025 was looking like such a write-off in terms of the estate output, but imho the Diamonds & Love leaks and the Crystal Ball rehearsals and whatever else made it one of the best years for posthumous releases.

To each their own. I'll take "Baby Doll", "Face 2 Face", "Uh Huh", "With This Tear", etc. over some of the stuff Prince released in 1982-88 any day of the week. But "Love Symbol" is one of my favorite albums, so I guess this is expected.

I agree. It's a really nice collection of songs and far better than what we got on D&P SDE.

The tracks you mention along with the likes of Dream, Arrogance, The Flow are in constant rotation for me.
