I guess it's better than nothing lol

It IS nothing. I don't buy anything on vinyl. razz

As RSD is mostly an event to promote vinyl and record stores, would it be safe to assume that you rarely if ever participate in the event or find something that you want on the list?

I'm not putting you down. I love vinyl and love RSD, but I don't love 7" singles, I expect the price to be more than I'm willing to pay, and I figure the only way I could get it at my local wrecka stow is to camp out and be one of the lucky few, which I'm not going to do. 3 strikes for me, so probably not going to get it. If I roll in to the store that afternoon, they still have it, and it's not too expensive, I might get it for the collection (not to listen to), but none of those things are likely to happen. So, I'm disappointed in this being the RSD release myself.

Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors.

That shop has sold out now. I managed to order the last one from Banquet Records at about 1 minute past 8 this morning when it went online.

This place has it:

A lot of the other UK shops I’ve searched are out of stock online. Surprised a shop had loads of copies, like nxx found - must be a big Prince fan centre round there.
There may or may not be something coming!

They do seem to be selling out, which surprises me. Also dunno why it seems more expensive for folk in the UK.

.

Laura LiPuma has talked about this in an interview recently: the hype sticker was a compromise by Prince because Warners felt they could not properly market an album without an artist and title.

.

Classic Pop magazine, November 2025:

.

Prince requested that there be no text onthe artwork. “That’s when things started to getvery challenging,” recalls LiPuma, “because that’s a marketing nightmare. The solution was to create a small flap, continuing the image and bearing the song titles, that wrapped around the back cover, plus a sticker of a boy holding a balloon (the image was Prince’s idea) containing the title, which was affixed to the album’s shrink-wrap.

.
