Maybe, but vinyl still sells more than CDs so it's dumb not to release on the format, from a financial standpoint. That said, the price point of the SDEs on vinyl undercuts that advantage, especially if the price is increased due to books and other ephemera included. For individual albums though, everything should be available on vinyl.

Wasn't it The Most Beautiful Girl that was supposed to be released in 17 different formats before the NPG would tour or some nonsense? Maybe the strategy is to release Purple Rain 319 times on vinyl once a year for 319 years... And THEN they'll release something worthwhile..?

Ha, yes, the plan was to release a load of dsifferent language versions of the track or something but only the Spanish version was evetually released by Mayte and the oither versions, if there are any, I only know of a French version sample going around in smaller cirlces from some inhouse tape, were shelved orr never even recoreded

The last time I played vinyl was in 1987, the day before I bought a cd-player and the SOTT double cd.

The last time I bought a CD was in 1987.

The day before i threw my CD player out, together with Sting's CD 'Nothing Like The Sun', and Paul Young's CD 'Between Two Fires!'

Good guess, close. However, TSOV was completed in December 2023. The studio who did it posted a sample on twitter. I forgot the name. I wanted to download the sample and it had been taken offline one week later.

It has been done by DigitalFilmTree (digitalfilmtree.com).

maybe they had to wait with their release until the SOTT Imax thing has come and gone?

would be nice to get some info within the next 2 weeks or so.

if not, I really don't think anything is happening this year, which is quite sad.
