Like everyone else, I am really disappointed about today's announcement. As I have now lost faith in the estate giving up unreleased material, I started to think about what songs should be on a SDE of Around the World in a Day (at least the ones that we know exist). I thought of the Prince vocal versions of the Family album as well as songs like Splash, Empty Room, and All Day/All Night (I think these fit the time period).

What songs do you think should be on a SDE? Also, what concert from the era would you choose for the set? I am interested in compiling my own since we are obviously not getting one.

We've got lots of interesting soundchecks from the Purpe Rain tour where P & The Revolution were working out the arrangements of songs like Temptation and The Ladder. Sure there are more in the vault.

I would also like to get a closer look at the creation of the song Temptation, which still is a bit of a riddle to me. Surely there are lots of alternate takes and edits from that one.

Then of course there's Princes 27th birthday gig @ the Prom Center, MPLS, which was billed as "Around the world in a day Masquerade ball" - maybe there's even a video of that show?

And of course the full performance and maybe also rehearsals for the Nice video shoot for the America live video.

This is an interesting question, though, because it kind of immediately transitions to the Parade ERA, after the Purple Rain tour.

There was the great Shelia E. Romance 1600 album during this period. And The Family Album.
