Silly I Hear Your Voice lyrics question I was always confused by this line, even at the time:
"My friends tell me that I need a new love A bird in hand beats 2 in the bush (I hear your voice) What my friends don't know, huh, and I ain't about 2 tell'em Is that U're the only bird, U're the only one who knows what buttons 2 push"
Why on earth do you think the narrator doesn't want to tell her friends that her ex is the only one who knows what buttons to push? Is it like a 35 years old "women don't discuss sex" taboo or what? |

. Perhaps she doesn't want her friends to know that her ex is a special one, otherwise they would try to get him too? |

I take it as she doesn't argue with her friends when they say she needs a new love but instead thinks to herself she'll see if things don't work out once again with him anyway, since he's pretty much the only one she wants at this point.
She just let her friends talk, knowing they don't understand how special he is/was.
She hasn't dated anyone else, the only thing she mentions is trying to take her mind off him by going out to buy new clothes, which left her feeling just as sad in the end.
Obsessed with him she even hears his voice calling to her in the night and she sure as heck ain't going to tell her friends that.

I like that, it's a very... princelike kind of reasoning
(Though technically, of course, we don't know which of the three wrote that line between him, Rosie and Francis) |

Could make sense, too, though I strictly interpreted it in terms of the sexual performance, but maybe I was wront? |

Always assumed the narrator didn’t want her friends to know how much of a hold the person still has on them. Hundalasiliah! |
