It all looks so cheap. Like some village fete.

What were they thinking.

Why not just fill the time with more listening sessions

It reminds me of the funfair from Father Ted. They had attractions like "The Amazing Spinning Cat" which was just a cat sitting on a record player. And "The Ladder Of Doom", which was just a rickety old wooden ladder propped up against a wall. And then there was my favourite of all. "Freak Pointing". Just some old man sitting in a chair as a bunch of people stand around pointing at him.

These "outdoor activations" give me the same vibe.

This is so hilarious. This is like elementary school field day activity. I cannot believe there are saps dumb enough to have spent four figures on this shit and what's sadder is that next year some of those same people will be here again.

I don't think I've ever heard "activations" used in this context. Am I just ignorant to something everyone else knows, or are they just saying shit that doesn't make sense?

It doesn't make sense. I think they think it is a fancy word for "activities".

LMAO:

PR and brand activations create impressive stunts from which today's social media-hungry society will instantly share their experience.

Not at all.

By performing in these, you actually activate the seven seals.

While I doubt that this is a likely invocation of the apocalypse as Bonnie C suggested, does anything prosaic even happen? Can you win some Prince-themed tchotchki? Do you get a hearty congratulations from the organisers or your peer participants? Or are you left with a mild sinking feeling of remorse “ I did the thing, it was nothing special…”

I'm sorry for posting twice about it but I'm kind of intrigued by the participants’ unwillingness to speak about it 🤣

Edit, asked and answered by Matt above 😊
