I love the Symbol album, but the tracklist of the "vault" section I see somewhere was very poor, IMHO

Once again, everything you listed was given by the previous estate, a distinctly different team than the one in charge currently. That's why we haven't gotten anything of note in the last few years, outside of one SDE that was already compiled by the previous team.

I see...then, it is really troubling. I guess the thing I find most hopeful is that Duane Tudahl and Chris james remain part of it all. I don't know what power they have....but if it was no longer about the music, you'd think they'd be canned...

Unfortunately, if I remember correctly, Duane Tudahl was canned a year or two ago.

Tudahl was fired a year or so ago.

James is IMHO not competent. His Dolby Atmos mixes are not great, to say the least, and his work for other artists has been criticized as well.

The only ersatz verification I've ever heard for this is Tudahl's LinkedIn profile listing his tenure as archivist having an end date of August 2024. His LinkedIn currently lists him as 'director/producer' for the prince estate. So...it seems to me 'canned' is an ungenerous description. Whether he was promoted, demoted or moved aside is unclear. One explanation is that he updated the NPG Records / Prince Estate entry (end date), but not his "headline" (what he's currently listed as, as you say). I wouldn't read too much into it. As far as we know, he doesn't work with the Estate anymore.
