Elton John briefly discussing Prince on Howard Stern

Elton John is such a wonderful person. Stern makes a valid point though... Anyway, Prince is Prince. And some artists (who are more normal than others), like Elton, know how to deal with strange peeps like Prince. But yeah, a british white gay guy... and then Prince... whatever he thought of Elton... We'll never know. Top fella, always liked him and love his music, a genius in his own way to me. Shame they never recorded anything together in the studio. Both on piano and on the mic in one song, what a dream that could've been.

I like the point that was made. Prince was Prince. Was the "mask" the real guy, or was it really him? The contrasting example of Dolly Parton raises a good point....is that "really her" or is it a persona? Maybe both at once? [Edited 4/28/25 20:12pm] "New Power slide...."

Thought they found him dead in his elevator looking un-Princely dressed... "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)
