As far as I heard the Parade SDE was worked on but not finalised. Fingers crossed for its 40th Anniversary next year.

Parade SDE wasn't "ready" at all during Howe's time. He was working on the Black album/ Camille/ Crystal Ball /Lovesexy era and wanted to do a project about that, but it never came to fruition. Camille and Crystal Ball were scheduled for SOTT SDE, but it was deemed too expensive for inclusion on vinyl. Parade is highly unlikely, because the estate made it clear from the start these SDE were too costly to produce. The more time passes by, the less potential sales are, let's face it. They could have released Symbol SDE as a companion for D&P last year, but they were disappointed by the return on investment. Moreover, there seem to have legal entanglements with these WB soundtracks, or else you can bet that Howe would have worked closely on Parade instead of, say, D&P.

To my understanding, McMillan and Co are not in control of the vault material. Correct?

I am aware that there is a fan-made version. Did Prince film it professionally?

The estate should create a streaming and download site where all songs that don't get a major release are available. That way they wouldn’t need to release the SDE but they could just put the vault tracks on that platform instead.U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

The Estate is in control of the Vault material.
1. Prince Legacy LLC -> McMillions & Spicer (majority stakeholder) 2. Primary wave
Prince Legacy LLC owns a slightly larger share of Prince’s estate than Primary Wave, making it the majority stakeholder.

I think it would be a wasted opportunity not to include a remastered Cobo Hall Bluray. Was the TV version we have cut short? Maybe there's a longer version with the missing songs?

That's what I highlighted above "Regarding the Cobo show : we know only the edited version...". Exactly. I‘m pretty sure there must be an unedited = complete version of that show. Maybe including support act Mazarati. I’ve wanted to see/own that for decades.

FJODOR said: meanwhile springsteen is releasing Tracks II - The Lost Albums in june, Yeah the estate could release so much more cuz there’s tons of material in the now 'freed' vault. But instead we’re lucky if we get even one release a year when it really should be two or three. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

yeah I heard about that Bruce Springsteen set.The Prince estate could easily do something like that with Prince’s recordings, but they seem so clueless and uninterested

Having assembled the exhaustive Diamonds And Pearls boxset, will Prince's estate celebrate next year's 40th anniversary of Purple Rain? The album was expanded in 2015, but hasn't had the full deluxe treatment. . "Of course," agrees Charles F Spicer Jr. "We'd be remiss if we didn't do something around Purple Rain next year, for both the film and the album. It's the work that elevated Prince to greatness, so we won't leave 2024 without doing justice to Purple Rain. That's a signature project." . Spicer is also determined that Prince's later albums will start to see similar deluxe treatment, explaining: "There's most certainly going to be super deluxe sets of Prince's later music. He was always creating, and there's so much music that we've got a lot of happy work on our hands to figure out how to release it all." . For the first time, some of the other artists who released albums on Prince's Paisley Park label will also see their albums reissued, some of which have been long out of print, such as Jill Jones. . Spicer reveals: "There's a great possibility that music will get released. There's so much to plan, and we need fans' patience to help make it happen. But this is the 25th anniversary of Chaka Khan's album which she made with Prince, Come 2 My House. That's being re-released this year, for example."
