Model C in a Cameo video Apparently this topic has been well known by everybody else in the Prince community except for me.
It's too bad that covid took out the wrong people. [Edited 3/3/25 2:40am]
Ancient Egyptians postulated 7 souls.
Top soul, and the first to leave at the moment of death, is Ren, the secret name... |

well... they are simply Auerswald guitars. They're certainly uncommon, but not exclusive to Prince, it's simply a upscale guitar brand. A quick google will show you lots of similar guitars, as well as lots of Prince guitars, who seems to have been one of the biggest stars to use them.
This may, of course, be because of their outlandish, some might say fugly, looks. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here! |

We literally known how Prince got the Model C. The person who gifted it to him wrote about it. There is a website about his guitars.
.
Why don't fans know this? It's not like Prince had a thousand different guitars. Info like this should be common knowledge. |

Yes, lots of fans know that. Exactly how did they get that information? Did it magically appear in their heads? Nope. They got that information after they asked a question and other helpful fans with the information pointed them in the right direction. That's how information is shared and spread. Conversation is the mechanism by which fans learn and become more knowledgable.
Fans don't aquire information by being condescended to.

I was today-years old when I realized a black version of the Model C is in the Cameo video for Candy (I've been trying to post images/screenshots but it's just not happening for me). If you watch the Candy video, you can mainly see it during the guitar solo. It's not an exact match since the headstock is a bit different, but the body shape and connection from the headstock to the body is the same, with the exception of it being on the top as opposed to on the bottom for the white one. Anyone have more info on these two - if these were designed by the same maker, other mainstream artists that used one, etc?
Check out the video "Just Play Music" from Big Audio Dynamite. It may make an appearance in another one of their videos. |

Very interesting. He also had it modified into a bass as per the Play that funky music clip from The forum shows. Wonder why he kept it around? If there are any guitarists reading this, do the different guitar shapes produce that much of a different sound between them? Can't you just use pedals and other effects to dial in the tone that you want? I'm not a guitarist so any details would be appreciated. |

The black guitar that appears in the Candy video looks to be an Auerswald instrument.
i think that one is a Roland G-707. Wendy had one on the Parade tour with a Paisley finish.

Yes - that looks quite possible - I think you are right looking at a still from the Candy video:

In what way has Purple Yoda scammed people? Like, I'm not in the chat channels a huge amount so I don't see everything but he's always come across as professional to me. |

Lieing to people to get material, lieing about people who do have uncirculating material etc. there was a huge fallout a couple of years ago where he got c aught lieing and trying to scam people, so watch out for that guy. He closed his server only to invite people to pay and/or ask for there ID's or something when he opened it up again. steer clear from him and his server. Tehre are other much better servers on Disocrd with uselful info.
