His outfits are WORKS OF SARTORIAL ART, people. He's not buying them at Chess King! The French lace and ruffles alone... How is a young black man in the middle of Minnesota Circa 1984-85 going to find affordbale tailers and designers to make him his Spaceman Edwardian Outfits? And how does he ask for clothes. "Make me look like a Perfumed Courtesian Dandy," he'd mutter in a soft, deep voice to his haberdashers. "That's The Look that's going to take get me out of Billy's Iron Grip..."??? This just strecthes credulity to the breaking point, folks. I'm just not buying it...

We know that before they made it big (in real life) much of the clothing worn by Prince and The Time was repurposed and upgraded items from 2nd hand stores.

I always suspend my disbelief and imagine that The Kid was wearing 2nd hand (ladies) items/outfits from the late 60's (which would have been everywhere in 2nd hand boutique shops in the early 80's). Thus, he's kinda of got a Hendrix/hippie vibe.

Mmm not sure about this. Billy said "one of y'all's got to go", and that Morris is squeezing the kid. Meaning Billy thinks Apollonia 6 and the Time together could bring in ALL the crowds. I'm thinking Billy meant one of the Revolution or the Modernaire groups have to go unless the Kid kicks ass. So really Dez got the boot if you think about it lol.
