Thanks for posting this, it's interesting to hear his thoughts on that event all these years later.
What a shame the Netflix documentary has been blocked. It sounds like a monumental achievement, worthy of the extraordinary life that Prince led. The Kevin Smith footage alone would have made the series a must-see.
Here's hoping the chaotic estate ownership leads to the management ending up in the hands of some people who are able to understand the difference between a hit piece, and an honest depiction of a human and their flaws as well as their astonishing accomplishments. |

None of us have seen the documentary, so we can't say whether it was a hit piece or an honest depiction of human nature.
I understand that few of us trust the judgement of the Estate (with justification). But it is possible that on this point they are correct that the documentary was unfair and dishonest. Until we see it, we're in no position to say whether the Estate was right or wrong.

None of us have scene the documentary, so we can't say whether it was a hit piece or an honest depiction of human nature.

They only care about making money. If Prince gets cancelled by the general public, bye bye capitalizing off the Purple rain gravy train. |

I'm a fan of Kevin Smith, particularly in his more recent years - He's less abbrasive and less of a prick, but as you can see from that interview, he's an amazing storyteller and has an incredible recall.
Also a massive Prince fan... and why wouldn't he be?
His "Fatman on Batman" - In Memory - Prince episode is worth a watch / listen if you haven't heard it before

didn't An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder have him detailing every bit he did at Paisley Park for that documentry? I think that was the DVD that had the 1,5 hour segment on the Celebration
