Turned out to be Purple Rain, after selecting Shuffle on My Prince spotify Playlist. Absolutely love the song, but rarely select it.

Hot Thing, it played on my local radio this morning when I got up. Nice to hear what kind of a super radio-unfriendly song it actually is/sounds. It's too danceable for radio, hard to fit in anywhere. In other words, my favourite loud car music. - By the way, happy new year to all of us! Although no one seems to care really. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Still haven't listened to anything by Prince. Haven't felt the need to.

The alternate version of Live 4 Love, the Ultrafantasy edit of Somebody's Somebody and Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic (the song). I don't know why. I'm not listening Prince in these days.

Having started New Year's Day with Palestrina, I wanted to stay with vocal music so I put on the song 'For You' by P – not quite a Stabat Mater of course, but in a way it is comparable to medieval motets. 'Solo' was next, then with a sharp turn it all went into a p-funk mayhem. Friends don't let friends clap on 1 and 3.
