I saw Ad/Flyer from Billboard Magazine someone posted on Facebook mentioning Prince Documentary coming 2026/2027. And new Prince music for 2025 but that could be just a couple of singles like we got last year. [Edited 1/2/25 3:16am] U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

It would be great if we could at least get some kind of update/announcement to give us an idea of what we can expect this year.I guess that’s asking for too much ![]()

Well, we gonna have a Celebration for sure. If all goes well, a stage musical. That's it so far. Guys, I've completely tuned out and am happier for it - go find something else. Stuff will happen when it happens. The situation is very sad, but it's untenable at this point so don't overthink it. Go listen to Neil Young or something.

Well, I've actually listened to some Prince albums, lately. Albums I hadn't listened to in years because, you know, I had already listened to them a gazillion times over the last 35 years. Stuff like "1999" or "Around The World In A Day". And it was actually a very enjoyable experience. That guy was a genius.

I recently rediscovered "Parade". Ha ven't heard it for a very long time too. What a fucking MEGA masterpiece of an album! From beginning to end, like an album should be. Stunning thing to assemble and release it after ATWIAD. Daring even. I'm dying for a Dolby Atmos version. I actually wonder if Prince kept the real painting... How big is it in real? Is it a canvas?

The painting that Doug Henders did for the Around The World In A Day album cover he has said was 24” x 48”, painted in acrylic on canvas. I heard somewhere that it was kept at Paisley Park but who knows where it is now. There may or may not be something coming!

The way last year they sent an email after Purple Rain celebration saying they were gonna do a "Purple Rain 2.0" celebration 2025 after numerous ppl were complaining about 2024 celebration logistics. the audacity. "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

It would be nice if the easte could clarify what they mean by Prince Documentary coming 2026/2027. The silence is just ridiculous. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

SErioulsy ...i'd like to wish something but IMO (hope to have wrong) ...there is nothing to expect from the Estate for the releases from the Vault for different reasons in the years to come ( management, strategic plan, limitation linked to publishing and exploitation rights with WB , Netflix deal conflict...) Like someone else mentioned it will happen when it happens. Prince getting a Grammy award this year could have coincided with something but the world doesn't work like anymore. I mean when can remember 2004 when it was methodically planned, Grammy performance, hall of fame, new music, tour playing hits for the last time, this was kind of what he was and Clive Davis wanted to do in 1999 with Rave, but you still had a lot of people mainstream that thought prince was nuts, he was still using thr symbol pretty much, this move though regardless of its meaning to him, be it spiritual or artistic freedom, it still came off bad to the public which is what he needed to buy a record. People really forget that prince was still a very local artist yes he had gold records here and there early on and then blew up but the popularity was waning, Prince despite having a big catalog, his catalog is not a big seller, people really have to realize this, he's not a Beatles or zeppelin or Billy Joel or Queen who are still some of the biggest selling artists now currently. The year end chart of sales, Queen and their greater hits was the biggest selling rock album of last year, Elton John's Diamonds was the biggest rock male record, Prince outside of purple rain has no catalog $$$ that's just reality. So as more time passes since he's passed and you don't have something tangible to latch on to, like an award or new discovery or a documentary which at this point might be the last chance to have any momentum in his catalog, but my fear is whatever documentary comes out, it's going to do nothing but sell more copies of Purple Rain. Got an email today about Record Shop Day/Wrecka Stow Day announcing Sam Fender as this year’s ‘ambassador’ of it in the UK. Reminded me that in a couple of weeks time they’ll announce the list of releases for the 2025 day and we’ll be all disappointed that there’s nothing again for Prince. There may or may not be something coming!
