A big year???

They could be lining up a series of fantastic releases but I'm not in the know so I assume it will be more of the same, Purple Rain boots, shot glasses and an overpriced Celebration.

I'm not privy to any contracts that have slowed physical music releases down to a complete stop but the people in charge are not boosting my confidence with their silence about forthcoming plans (don't include this musical).

If anything amazing does happen next year it will be a nice surprise but I probably thought 2024 had the potential to be a great year. That didn't happen, not even close.

Look at us all currently, getting excited by a 2-3 leaks over the last week or so.

I'd love to have faith in the current estate that things will improve but I just can't see it unless there is a large shift in who gets to control any future releases.

Sorry for bringing the mood down but that is my opinion, hopefully I'm wrong.

Zero predictions, but who knows? ... They Estate will have to let the cat out of the bag sometime!

As for a wishlist - That a bootlegger was the winning bidder on all those Dr Fink cassette tapes auctioned last month and is currently curating them with suitable artwork to go with on a CD series.

My hope.wish.best thought is.

A vault website subscription service with music, videos, and photos for $20, with its own app like "livephish"

where you can search on songs, years, and have statistics and extensive show notes.

alt configs, a mixing desk where you can load up master tracks and mix your own, demos, soundboard and rehearsals.

I would also like to see NPG, Family, and Revolution booked once a qtr at Paisley Park as MINN is a great fly in location with very reasonable flights and hotels.

All I want is that freakin' Gotta Broken Heart Demo that Dez once had.

Then a Prince 1979 SDE and Dirty Mind.

At the moment, no, nothing comes to mind.

As far as the new management team is concerned, 2024 has set the standard for the future.

So expect nothing for 2025 & beyond.

Well, we got two songs in 2024 (and two alternate mixes of songs that were already out at that), so I guess we'll be lucky if we get three next year?
