It's circulated for years. The version on the latest Blast From The Past is longer (I think) than on this, but that might be down to the latest release having been slowed down marginally (I'd need to check) :

I can't remember whether it was this one, but I once had 2 copies of the Flesh sessions (I'd have to check if I kept both or deleted one): one given by me by a private collector long before it leaked, and the one that ended-up on BftP (I don't recall if it was the first leak or they rippied it from another boot). Either way, I once realized there was a slight difference in at least one track between those 2 sources. IIRC it was rather discreet and easy to miss, one short part seemed to have have been looped on one version or something of the sort (can't remember if the looped part replaced another or made the track longer, though). At the time I assumed this difference was the result of someone tagging it (as is common among traders), as opposed to two different, genuine mixes. I haven't listened to that new version of HC yet, but if someone wanna compare it with what we already have and see if anything is looped somewhere, this could maybe explain why there are two versions.

I think the 'new' version is longer. I haven't compared the BFTP 8 version to the Can I Play With U one yet though

When Prince finally released the song "Crystal Ball", i remember being amazed upon the first listen that it was a different mix than all the bootlegs i had heard.
Is that indication of the song being -tagged- by the underground?

My understanding is that Prince had HM Buff make new mixes of most, if not all the 80s tracks for CB98, but IDK. I haven't relistened to the old bootleg mixes for comparison. The one on the leaked CB86 seems to be the same as on CB98, but it seems there are still debates regarding this configuration's authenticity, so that could explain it.

I have to relisten again to HM Buff's interviews and podcasts he was invited for.

If this is true that he had to remix a lot of 8às material, as you say, that is a good sign. Meaning, they are also probably digitalized, no?

Anyways. The configuration of CB86 is indeed doubtful. As with the Camille configuration, etc.

We all know the tracklist(s) (more or less) of these unreleased projects, but that was never really a reliable indication of the final product Prince made.

The different mix of CB in '98 indeed was a nice surprise and different.

This 'High Calonic' version is out for years.

I recently got my hands on BFTP 8.0, and going to listen tonight what the difference is.
