I may be imagining things, but I think I remember reading that GB was the real nickname of a bridge near MPLS (destroyed before the movie was made, thus recreated for it IIRC), so if I'm not trippin', it's not necessarily a "first mention of a project", more a mention of a real location that eventually became a project. Interesting nonetheless.
