New Outtake leak: "Keep On Loving U" It's said to be from 2002. Musically, it's based on a piano riff from Anita Baker's "Giving You The Best That I Got", sounds like a portion of it was sampled and looped with a Linn drum pattern on top of it. Nothing groundbreaking, but I like it!

I get why we're not allowed to openly discuss where to find such things but it's a shame nevertheless. Having said that, I'm pretty sure I still haven't heard all the officially released stuff

Any outtake leak is very welcome

I don't "get why". We can discuss it anywhere else on the entire internet except here, a private fan community. It's beyond ridiculous. This is the only fan site in the world where you can't even post pics or videos of the subject. It's like 1995 AOL here.

The looped piano part is really annoying but I love the vocals. I'm wondering whether that loop was done/approved by P or is it just some remix... Friends don't let friends clap on 1 and 3.

Ohlala Rashida, you're in trouble now gurl! (Rashida, be careful...) - Like it very much! Vocals are fresh and classic fun-Prince. Good to have at least something. (Does it fade out too early?) No info on PrinceVault (yet). - Thank you Mindbells9 !!!!! You made my christmas. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. Fabulous track . Anyone knows what the source is for 2002 being the date? Is it something Rashida said? . For those of us who cherish the later part of Prince's career as much as the first, the Vault must be such a treasure trove of things we don't even suspect exist A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

"The Greatest Romance Ever Sold - Promo Mix. During the Single release promo appearances, Prince chose to mime along to a backing track. Never a nice thing to see from a guy who nailed live performances every single time. However, this being Prince, the promo mix he mimed to had extra musical embeilishments, extra harmonies by Kip Blackshire & the NPG Hornz adding another layer of cool to an already smooth groove. The only version of this circulating is hidden under crowd noise, cheering and clapping... Until now." My understanding from this is that this is from one of the European TV performances, then tinkered thru AI to remove audience noises. So nothing new really, just frankensteining. He mentiones his baby blue Bentley so this is more likely 2006/2007.

. Yes: "The track was split into its component parts, audience noise removed, the drum track (due to clapping being intertwined with the percussion) was replaced with that of the released track before being realined. Then all was re-edited back together, remastered and given a thorough spit & polish".

I still disapprove of them, but now with AI, I have to accept the reality of the fact that people will make them and there is nothing to be done about it except maybe reminding them that if they choose to do so, they choose to blur the lines between reality and illusion, and clutter the Internet with fake works of art that many people will naively assume is the real deal. But if someone realizes this and still choose to do so, I have to accept it. . And it's only the begining: today, we see fanmade mixes. Tomorrow, AI will generate brand new Prince songs from scratch, that will probably be great and undistinguishable from the real deal. The real detective work will be to figure out whether it's a leak from the vault or something an AI made. TBH, my first reflex with this new song was already to ask myself whether it could possibly be an AI creation, but then I thought the technology probably isn't there yet to make something that sounds so authentic. . Anyway this is now a problem that goes waaay beyond music and arts: being able to distinguish real content from fake content has already become an issue for the last decade or so, but with the advent of AI-generated contents, it's going to become a crucial skill for each and every one of us to develop. . In a few years' time, one that doesn't ask themselves for pretty much everything they read, see or hear whether it is genuine/human or AI-generated will more often than not find themselves living in an imaginary world. There's also a stripped down "alt" version in addtion to a fuller, more produced track. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

Comparatively to 1977-95, very little is known about P's unreleased material after 1995. Has the alt. version you mention leaked or is it just in the hands of some collectors? A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

This is cobbled together. I can't see Prince doing all those vocals over an Anita Baker sample, and a looped Linn. Feels more like something Rashida did on her own. No way Prince produced that. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Both the fully produced track and the. “alt” (which features the same vocals but far fewer keys and embellishments) are circulating as of Nov 25.
