Don't know who is this weirdo, but he sounds very hyped when basically he ain't saying anything that's not on Mayte's book, which been out for ages already. Toure knows exactly what he’s doing. Most Gen z could care less about Mayte’s book and don’t know her story. But salacious 1 min videos on TIKTOK will grab a younger generations attention.

How about a Camille vinyl release or even a Black Album anniversary release?! I would settle for that. They Don't give a shit about projects that are not leading to millions of $. There are not people paid for that job anymore ( running the vault and the existing catalogue). They are instead working on profitable projects ( that I Hope, won't sée thé light of day)

Touré is just telling the same things I said here for months. There s no fucking way the estate is going to let that doc be released. Thé director IS just a fucking idiot, and the Netflix guys who let him do that fucked UP job must be fired by now. If I were in charge of the estate, I certainly won't let that shit be released. Now, they could just release some fucking remastered shows on Netflix.

Exactly ! But... they can't. We know why, ... sort of, not all 100% clear though. But it's what it is; nothing will happen in BIG YEAR!.

It will be released somehow and then the whole controversy (via the media) will play out again, I'm pretty sure about this. - I was thinking the other day, maybe Spicer, Londell and Primary Wave are doing it for exactly this reason, to build even more controversy, to create more buzz, more hype, and maybe to result in more money? How perverse the idea alone... "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

"This fandom" will never die. I'm working on it. I'm brainwas... I mean, I'm educating my 6-year-old son. One day, he'll be a fan, too.

contrary of what i thought 1st ....Mc Millan/Spicer are trying to push the train in the right direction but Primary wave is blocking all the (good) proposals from them it seems !

How perverse the idea alone... Your theory is so beyond ridiculous, when it s so obvious why they are putting it on hold forever. Unless Netflix is going to court, or cut it down to six hours, of course. But thé 9 hours version will never be released officially, everyone understood that.

The 9 hours don't need to be released officially. There always will be leaks. Patience is a virtue, and we have nothing else but trust on that. I can wait. This year's promises are all fucked up anyways. Someone here reminded us of this too; we have hundreds of hours of music to listen to. I'm sure every one of us still has Prince material they even didn't listen to or watch. Even stuff that won't make the 9 hours doc. That's how much Prince left us, no other artist nearly did the same. Put on top of that the even bigger mountain of the unreleased stuff circulating. What olb99 says about the community being split in many more online communities than before is true, 20 years ago, if you wanted to talk Prince, there was basically the Org and HQ (and Shckopi if you spoke French) and that was pretty much it. Today there's a gazillion subcommunities on various social media. . Nevertheless, what really made me realize something has changed, besides the fact that there are much less threads on the Music and More forum, is how the General Discussion forum is nearly dead (5 ongoing threads as I write!). I remember a time when GD was a vibrant community, with new threads every day, people made friends, etc. The fact that we did actively discuss many other things than Prince was a sign that there was a real community here. And now it's all gone and I wonder what became of all those people... But I have fond memories of the GD forum in the 2000s, it was lovely and lots of fun A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

The tone, knowledge and detail of comments in this forum (still) vastly exceeds any FB group or other social channels that I have seen with a Prince focus. This remains my preferred place to hang out and get actually valuable ‘content’ Hats off to the owners, mods, and whole community! It’s not as lively as it used to be but, as others note, that’s true of most such sites — eaten by social media giants. But this is better. And better is still worth something?

I started lurking here in 2019 and it felt very alive - but that's also probably cause we were getting new music at the time... same with 2020, great memories there.

Exactly, there is still talk here. Getting older = becoming more conservative. Name it what you want but it's somehow true. Granting someone something to get nothing in return is much more sensitive with age. At least that has been my experience. Greedy old Prince fans, who never have enough, and prefer to lash out at each other. )) "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. There are new fans, I see them mostly on reddit, twitter, tik tok. This forum is pretty old-school and Gen-z don't really use this format to communicate.

Of course there are new fans, but not all that much. I'm als on Reddit, TikTok, Twitter, Telegram, etc. Most of TikTok fans use Prince's music as background for fun. On Reddit you find mostly those orgers who left, same as on Discord, facebook (groups) and X. They even mention often how old and sad this platform has become. - Someone here mentioned it, look at the views (not the comments) of some threads here. It's not so dead.
