Also, Sheila E has 2 nominations in the Latin category, and Esperanza Spalding has a nomination for Best Jazz Vocal album.

From the list, here is what D&P SDE is up against:

CATEGORY 79 - Best Historical Album. For historical albums containing reissues or compilations. Award to compilation producers and mastering engineers.

Centennial — Meagan Hennessey & Richard Martin, compilation producers; Richard Martin, mastering engineer (King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band And Various Artists)

Diamonds And Pearls: Super Deluxe Edition — Charles F. Spicer, Jr. & Duane Tudahl, compilation producers; Brad Blackwood & Bernie Grundman, mastering engineers (Prince & The New Power Generation)

Paul Robeson – Voice of Freedom: His Complete Columbia, RCA, HMV, and Victor Recordings — Tom Laskey & Robert Russ, compilation producers; Nancy Conforti & Andreas K. Meyer, mastering engineers (Paul Robeson)

Pepito y Paquito — Pepe De Lucía & Javier Doria, compilation producers; Jesús Bola, mastering engineer (Pepe De Lucía And Paco De Lucía)

The Sound Of Music (Original Soundtrack Recording - Super Deluxe Edition) — Mike Matessino & Mark Piro, compilation producers; Steve Genewick & Mike Matessino, mastering engineers (Rodgers & Hammerstein & Julie Andrews)

Was also wondering if a box set of Madhouse albums (could include 8, 16, both 24 unreleased ones, plus a live performance, and any out takes) would be pushed for a Jazz Grammy by the estate. They seem to like awards and could be in with a shout.
There may or may not be something coming!

Given the 1999 and SOTT SDE packages were IMHO superior to D&Ps I can see this missing out to the Sound of Music

I would venture to guess it's the music.

Didn’t Duane join after D&P was put together?
I guess he helped with cutting the Symbol part out and choosing what tracks and extras would remain!?

Nope according to his LinkedIN page:

Producer / Archivist / Senior Researcher

NPG Records / THE PRINCE ESTATE

aug. 2018 - aug. 2024 6 jaar 1 maand

Over the last 6 years, I have been PRODUCER / ARCHIVIST / SENIOR RESEARCH for
THE PRINCE ESTATE / NPG RECORDS. I was responsible for curating Prince's Legendary Vault (including all of his recordings / films / videos / photos / documents / handwritten lyrics & notes) and was involved with every one of Prince’s posthumous releases since 2018.

I couldn’t even look through the Grammy nominations this year, between catering to Beyoncé and her husband for not having enough of the right awards, to Sabrina carpenter being nominated for best new artist on her seventh release is proof this show is all about the show has nothing to do with what is a good record or not . And I’m not even saying any of these are bad musically it’s just is this the best you could do Grammy committee?
