Whatever it was, before we had time to really think about it, Prince shifted gear and went into roadrage mode, commencing galactic battle with his record company, assuming a host of pseudonyms, impersonated Rainman at the Brits, he played all-new-song shows on a stage designed to resemble the male and female downstairs anatomy, opened a string of stores to sell his bodily secretion and married a 21 year old belly dancer, introduced as a princess from Egypt and claimed he impregnated her on their weddingnite whilst CJ took out her calculator and did the math. She got a song made in her honour. I think the o(+> album, for all it's tacky whoredom kind of bit the dust about that time. Educate me IstenSzek, Rainman at the Britz? Not mine. You're crazy. Go listen to "And God Created Woman" or "The Sacrifice of Victor." Or "Thieves In The Temple." You're crazy. See? homo edit [This message was edited Thu May 1 13:16:00 PDT 2003 by FunkMistress] Thieves in the Temple wasn't on that album. even if it was the album was still shit. i'm sure if we were listening to demo's there may be something to salvage, but as it all appears on o+> it's awful. except Sexy MF. but that's also ruined by Pony fucking M. well that's your (stupid) opinion...this album is funky as hell...

I think Diamonds and Peals pretty much sucks ass, but yeah, 0(+> was good. It was one of the first P albums I bought, and I had never heard anything like it. I thought it was heaven. I've since discovered albums I like better, but I still think it's good.

I thought o(+> was a refreshing return to form, especially after the overwrought disaster that was Diamonds and Pearls. I even enjoyed much of the material with Tony M (though even I must admit that "My Name Is Prince" is a laughable track).

The album was a "barbarella la la la" trip.
Some say his colorful showmanship on stage was at its finest & most energetic then. Gold was ok but I felt it was a step down from the Act I and II fun.

I remember the official press release - it was on April 1 and they also stated that it wasn't an April's Fool joke. but the math CJ did (I haven't know up to now that she tackled the subject) might have been screwed up - after all the baby wasn't born healthy (to say the least) ______________

The "" is an exceptional album filled with all kinds of gems.
"Diamonds and Pearls" was a fabulous pop album. But "" seems to take that pop flavor and turn it in2 a funky, fast and furious concept album hitin' u hard with GOD, LOVE, SEX, RESPECT and PURE SELF INDULGENCE. "The MAX"! "My NAME is PRINCE and I am FUNKY..." Enough said! __________________________________________________

I am a whore , because I LOVE the Symbol album! It is everything that a Prince fan could ask for: ballads, quirkiness, rap, bohemian, and pure funkiness overall.

Something more must have been at play with Prince, for the militant attitude.

Listen to "Blue Light", "Seven", "Love 2 The 9s" or many others and you will see that Prince is at the top of his game. I feel it is kind of cheesy but I still listen to it all the time and consider it one of his best song-by-song post Lovesexy albums (and it's better than Lovesexy ).
Better than LOVESEXY,oh no you didn't I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

I don't get it . . Well, his acceptance speech at the brit awards was so weird, that if Michael Jackson saw it, he must have thought to himself "He's a little weird ain't he??"... He looked cool and yet completely retarted at once and made a speech none but the hardcore fans could relate to. "Prince...best? The Gold Experience...better, On record...slave...In concert...perfectly free". I heard that at this point Jarvis Cocker threw a whole box of toothpecks on the floor and Prince glanced at them for 3 seconds and yelled "319". That's how 319 became a song too. I'm not lying. Well, perhaps just a little bit. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
