Where is the next Super Deluxe?

It's been a while since Diamonds and Pearls...

My hopes:

1. Lovesexy Super Deluxe

2. Parade Super Deluxe

3. ATWIAD Super Deluxe

4. Batman Super Deluxe

5. Controversy Super Deluxe

6. Purple Rain Super Deluxe

Surely the Nexflix doco isn't holding this up? There is surely much great content in these 6 releases...

Remasters, Unreleased, concerts, rehearsals, opportunities to restore on shows like Lovesexy Dortmund and release in HD+

The SDE's are a blight upon what could be even more creative and ambitious sets. SDE's are small fries. It's been done. We need to look towards the future for bigger and better sets that tell more of a story.

This one could be really intriguing.They could include The Black Album with it.And we all know about the amazing shows and aftershows from this era.

An online platform which has access to music and video would be better, simply charge a monthly subscription fee.

I was under the impression the Parade one was also ready.

But how a Purple Rain one isn't being released in the anniversary is a huge missed opportunity (although if it was released in a year or two, it would probably have a similar reach).

Massive, actaully *comprehensive* sets is what we really want. I personally don't need a remastered album and a handful of (previously released) edit or extended versions to go with a dozen of unreleased tracks and a live show. I'm fine with that if people actually wants remasters, but that shouldn't deprive from seriously curated packages, I don't know, a set of live shows from any given era or even an uncut studio sessions set. The possibilities are endless. The idea of charting material and big sales is pretty archaic.

The old good days are dead now ( PR deluxe & 1999/SOTT/D&P SDEs) ...all is DEAD for good....did u understand ? I guess u know who are the new managers in charge of The Estate since 2022 ...don't u ??

From my understanding, video concert footage is the main thing the estate isn't able to release right now due to the Netflix contract. Instead of adapting and releasing audio-only sets, the estate is ignoring music altogether and putting all of their energy into Paisley Park events and pointless merchandise.

I have a feeling that even after the Netflix documentary dispute is resolved, the estate will continue focusing on everything but vault releases. Londell simply doesn't give a shit about what the long-time fans actually want.

Londell stated/said in a tweet that a SDE without video/live show isn’t a full release… (something like that)

Londell will say anything if it means he doesn't have to do anything.

in 2026 we'll finally get that Purple Rain SDE, but instead of the OG Prince album, it will be the studio recording of the broadway musical, with a bonus disc of cast auditions/rehearsals and two discs containing a live performance of the musical.
