The Irony of the Netflix deal with the estate

Seems like everything is interconnected that benefitted the estate.

Netflix if the reports are accurate paid the estate " tens of millions of dollars" which in turned greatly helped the estate satisfy the IRS estate taxes which in turn allowed the estate to get out of probate.once this step was done thru the courts the heirs/ Primary Wave could take over from Comercia / Troy Carter. So in some weird way Netflix helped Spicer/ McMillan and Primary Wave be in control.

On a side note Troy Carter must have had some though meetings with McMillan, Spicer and Primary Wave.Im sure they were livid while asking him how could he hinder them Re decisions involving the deal.

I’m sure NETFLIX has some language in the contract covering themselves in the case the project is scrapped. A hard pill to swallow if the estate has to pay all that money back.

Netflix can do a tax write off, because I don't think the Estate has the funds to pay it back.

Or maybe McMillions has some millions left somewhere.

...or maybe they hold the estate to ransom..... You guys don't get access to the vault, until we get our money back... or you let us release the contract

It was one thing when Prince had no will... and it took many years to untangle that - But now we're in a whole new crazy situation. - All one can do is speculate

Regarding MJ, it's a movie not a doc.

It's not the same.
Biopic will use a bit of historic truth to tell a story.

Movie will use famous names and distort the actual truth to conjure drama.

Why would they have to pay anything back? Edelman agreed to and signed the contract, its not the estates fault he refuses to abide by the terms of it

Bitch this ain't the movies

The only valid legal argument used by the estate to block the doc, is still the length? (9 hrs when they signed on 6)?

well I dont think "the doc is trash" would stand as a leagl argument on its own. Without knowing the full contract who knows what other conditons he's breached...but regardless, the length on its own is enough for them to (rightfully) block the release

The length of the doc is indeed the main legal issue atm.

Didn't the NYT article also alleged that the Estate has final fact check approval?

Hence the 8-page (?) doc from McMillions to change the tone and removal of interviews/stories that were in his opinion unfactual.

Since it is taking this long to find a compromise, or to adjust it, it smells as if 'they' trying to white-wash the whole damn thing, to make Prince look like an unreal saint.

Would not be surprised it would only be a 3 or 4 hour doc in total, IF it will see the light at dawn.

May we al live to see the doc.

Yep. Londell and Charles have zero motivation sort this shit out because they're content making money off of Paisley Park tickets, musicals, and tacky merchandise.
