Thank you.

Again an interesting example of how not to cover a Prince song.

Actually, this tightly directed rather boring Channel show was much more exciting than this uninspired elevator-music version.

Never heard of this girl to be honest, but she brought it without any emotion,

without adding absolutely nothing to the greatness of this song.
Is she a real singer?

Or just 'this' other famous grandchild with wealthy benefits, and ultra thin talent?
To me, honestly, ‘When Doves Cry’ should never really be covered by anyone. Just like ‘Heroes’ by Bowie, or ‘Hotel California’ by The Eagles.... etc.

All songs that have been wrongly and faintly raped so many times.

She is Elvis Presleys Grand-daughter! Of course you knew that other wise you wouldn't have asked is this another famous grandchild.

She is an actress!

I loved it!

It's a terribly difficult song to cover - I thought it worked within the context of the show.

Yes, I read she was Elvis grand-daughter, but never heard her sing.

And an actress too? whatever.

To me she sounds terrible.

Emotional attachment. 100% of the posters left on this site have sentimental reasons to protect his legacy with no realistic reason or ability other than to see it not sullied. This was a passing moment from a young woman who is two times removed from American music royalty, by proxy royalty via Michael, and the fashion luxury name Chanel. Let it go, this was nothing more than a high production pop fashion display.

This post has been modified from its original thought. It has been formatted to fit into the space and run in the time allotted.

Let's just say I hope it makes some people listen to the original version, which is a masterpiece, of course.

Prince or otherwise, there aren't many studio cover versions that I enjoy.

Covering a song live is another story.
