U can't be serious.

Seriously. I’ve been using AI to transform some noisy audience recordings of concerts to get rid of the incessant cheering and screaming. It gives you some awesome clean live recordings. No harm, no foul.

I'm talking about A.I. and Prince, one the most creative artists that ever lived.

This would be an insult beyond imagination.

I agree with mclihah2, why NOT use it (for your own pleasure)?

What's the difference with remixing songs tbh...

Embrace the new, discover what it can bring for you.

Simple. See how it can improve things for you.

Confirmed! As suspected since weeks...Duane Tudahl is not working anymore for the Estate (fired?) confused [Edited 10/13/24 0:59am]

Question is now, who's taking his place?

And why?

I thought Duane was (more than an) OK guy, within the Prince camp.

For sure he didn't had the power to do more when he was working for them, but whatever he did, I like it.

In his interviews he seemed always very authentic and comitted.

Don't know the guy personally, or anything of the whole situation, but i'm sure this isn't what he wanted.

For any sceptics, I would say Google "The Prince AI Trans4mation Project" and judge for yourself - This AI stuff is allowing us to REALLY get into Prince's music, especially when used judiciously

In some ways, it's kind of a modern equivalent to a graphic equaliser. - It doesn't take away, it just adds

This is just a bit interesting for shitty sounding audience recordings. I much rather have a soundboard recording mixed for home listening by professional audio engineering people with ears than some shitty A.I. interpretation

Yeah, I agree with you - I would love to have the professional mixed / master source recordings.....

I must be confused because I'm thinking I'm seeing an argument FOR using AI on Prince releases. That can't be right, can it? Naw, I'm clearly misunderstanding. There's no way anyone here wants that. I probably just need to get my vision checked and my glasses updated.

Realistically? Probably nobody. Londell and Charles don't give a shit about the vault and having someone on payroll to curate future vault releases is just less money in their own pockets. If they ever decide to release anything from the vault again, it'll be of their own curation and the release will be littered with typos and incorrect information about the recording and its origins.

I'm playing around with A.I.

That is a diffrenet topic than mucking up Prince catalogue with it.
