Way too young! That sucks, she brought so much energy to Prince's stage shows during those years

I was watching some Lovesexy and SOTT era clips on YouTube this morning, and it's kind of shocking that Cat, Boni and Prince are all gone!

Aw, man, that is so sad. Cat's "Alphabet St." rap was a huge part of my '88 summer. It's burned into my DNA.

Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear this. I had the pleasure of seeing her do her thing with Prince on the LoveSexy tour front row. She was one helluva dancer. RIP Cat.

Such sad news. Cat was much more then a dancer, she was a very vital part of Prince's camp & prensence in these days. The SOTT & Lovesexy era was when I became an addict for life, and Cat played a large part in all of that.

I think also her musical influence on Prince is not recognised enough. I remember reading an article a long time ago (I couldn't locate it now in the internet) that it was Cat who introduced P to Chicago House music, not only via her "Music is the key" rap, which P didn't know beforehand, but with actually taking him to clubs in her hometown Chicago. That of course influenced his next musical steps, which were the Batman album and the myth-enshrouded original Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic album. (I would love to read that article again, if anyone still has it.)

I'm so sorry to hear this. She was with him for such a short time, but what an impact she made. I wouldn't be the Prince fan that I am without the Lovesexy era, and she was a key player. I hope they are both together somewhere, continuing where they left off.

Sad news, she was my favourite dancer of his, and the SOTT and Lovesexy tours were stunning. Can't agree with her rapping though. Infact I don't like any of the rapping on Prince's music. Alphabet St should of just been released as the single edit.

She was a fine appearance in 1987-88, like someone said here, she is also in my DNA as the Alphabet st. rapper, the magnificent dancer, a fun and energetic person.

I still have her cut-out stand in my house, made for that first 'SOTT' single release, the one where she wears that big black mirror glass heart.

60 is not all that young. You guys are always looking for conspiracy theories. The average person dies between the ages of 60-80 of natural causes. Before that, it's considered "too young" but if you live beyond 80, you're blessed.

Historically, yes, 60 was a reasonable age to die. But in the modern world, people are generally living longer. These days, 60 is young to die.
