What was Prince trying to do in Superfunkycalifragisexy? I looked in the org for information relating to this but I couldn't find anything recently discussed about this topic and not really opinions about what you might think this song could be about or what inspired it. Squirrel Meat?! Shockadelica, she must be a witch

Not sure this explains what it means but it covers some thoughts on it: https://www.500princesong...fragisexy/ There may or may not be something coming!

I think it's just about sex, but in an atypical strange way. Maybe Prince saw Lynch's 'Blue Velvet', and wanted to write a more orignal 'weird song about sex'. Some (soft) S&M scenery in mind. And that 'Squirrel Meat' frase thing, wasn't that somehow used during the Parade era in live shows? Can't remember exactly where i get this from... Or maybe it's a fantasy of Prince of what drugs might do to your brain and horny mind. "If you do to much, your skin will be sensitive to touch" is somehow related to drugs. Then Prince again about this strange 'sexperience' ; "cause in my possession, there's a signed confession, That says, I was the best you ever had... Too bad!" Ecstasy perhaps? Makes perfect sense when learning about the BA folklore. "Whatever skin we're in
we all need 2 b friends" | |

I always thought it was inspired by recreational drug taking. And the feeling something like ecstasy gives you. “Your skin will be sensitive to the touch, you kiss somebody, you wanna party all night” But the song is also lyrically like a prototype Lovesexy. The concept of something funky or spiritual giving you feelings, “The feeling you get…”. “Anyone who’s ever touched it, don’t want nothing else”
