Bream: I was grilled for 6 hours by the director of the controversial Prince documentary

https://app.startribune.c...ntent.html

"Ok Google, summarize that":

Summary: A Complex Prince
Ezra Edelman's extensive documentary on Prince was a deep dive into the life of the enigmatic music icon. Despite initial hesitations, the author of an unauthorized Prince biography agreed to participate in the six-hour interview.
Edelman's meticulous approach involved extensive research and probing questions. However, the project faced challenges, including the potential non-release due to objections from Prince's estate.
The author's perspective on Prince was respectful, acknowledging the singer's complex personality and the challenges of truly understanding him. The documentary's fate remains uncertain, leaving fans and the public with a lingering question about the full extent of Prince's story.

"Ok Google, now summarize the same text but try to make it rhyme and use as many alliterations as possible"

A Prince of Purple Prose
A Prince, a puzzle, a perplexing plight,
A biography's author, a shining light.
Six hours of secrets, a soulful sound,
Researching deep, where truths abound.
A potential problem, a painful plight,
Estate objections, a dimming light.
Respectful words, a reverent tone,
A complex character, a life unknown.
A rhyming summary, a colorful cast,
A Prince's story, forever last.

This is why I don't trust AI to summarize and article for me. The above summary missed the thrust of the article.

Beam says he couldn't tell if Edleman has a specific angle or story about Prince he was trying to tell, but Bream could tell that Eldeman was hoping Bream would provide a lot of emotion in the interview. For example, Edleman was hoping Bream would be wowwed by seeing old footage of him with Prince. And Eldeman was hoping Bream would be angry when reminded of the times Prince dissed him. But Bream was very stoic in the interview and had little to no reaction for any of these things.

That was the primary story Bream tried to tell in his blog, but you'd never get that from the summary.

Agreed (hence the second summary which is almost literal nonsense). But, it took seconds to get the summary, and I didn't have to type a wall of text, although that seems moot now. The assumption (and I think it's a fair one) is that most people would click the link and read the actual article. Since it's from someone who's written about Prince for decades.

He's also right. His stories are his to tell. Why would he give everything to Edleman in an unpaid interview so that he (Edleman) gets the acclaim/awards/money for Breams content (content isn't the right word it seems reductive, but you know what I mean). Bream could write (another) book or work with others on a documentary of his own.
