If they really had any interest in releasing music, we would have more than one release a year by now. Unfortunately, 2024 might be the first year since Prince's passing without a new release and it's really worrying.

I'm pretty sure this would lead to the release of an exciting new range of pot pourri & purple bath mats.

NONE of those products are interfering with the release of music and/or video.
All that is contracted out to a separate company (Music Express).

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I don't think we got anything in 2022 either.

A re-re-release of the Live from Syracuse 1985.

Even the previous estate could have done an Originals volume every year or so ( they restored like 400 songs that were " originals" songs given to other artists), but they rather chose to include those songs on the SDE ( SOTT, D&P).

Which proves once again these SDEs format are the most profitable way to release new music for them.
Of course these releases weren't flawless ( too much useless photographs, too much useless written appreciations, no lyrics printed, too much edits, concerts and edits inappropriate on vinyl Boxset, etc.) but at least we had something, as long as fans were buying it PHYSICALLY.

Now, for me the most obvious cash-grab release was the last piano and mic-concert. The previous estate wasn't out of criticism too, that's for sure.

I know some others here want a platform where they could download audio/video material, but that wouldn't work : every material would soon be on YouTube, etc. Streaming revenues from these unreleased tracks are close to zero.

Concerts could work on Netflix. More than just a documentary, that could be a way to justify paying every month to see regularly that material
That would have also justified the 64 millions $ supposedly paid to have exclusive rights ( I still don't believe it though). That would be more bankable than a documentary.

Here's the address to contact Paisley Park. Send 'em an email to let Londell and Charles know how the fans really feel about their terrible job performance. If anyone has professional email addresses for Londell and Charles individually, please share them here.

We need to do more than just complain amongst ourselves on this dying forum.

Or you could try maybe this:

Miles Marshall Lewis on X...’d?" / X

Maybe send him a list of questions and some constructive critisism?

"surprise: interviewing L. londell mcmillan next wk! any Q’s you want A’d?
8:36 PM · Aug 10, 2024 "

It's now September 13 and AFAIK the interview never happened... shrug

The Estate already knows what the core fans want.

That is why they keep the Vault for the overpriced VIP Cellies.

And they are for sure lurkers here lol

They are on a different plan: expanding the market with musicals, new artists, lousy merch etc.

Maybe they can release the PR SDE when the Netflix debacle finally settles.

I bet that they are more focused on making the PR musical a success and will milk this for sure in 2025: so expect musical merch and P songs by the musical cast razz
