I'm kind of surprised that Warner Bros didn't try to capitalise on the renewed interest surrounding the Michael Keaton Batman movies by putting out a remaster of the Prince album or something. Throwing on a couple of additional songs (Dance With The Devil, Anna Waiting etc) would have been nice too but even just a bare minimum effort remaster of the album would have been something.

On the soundtrack album charts, The Greatest Showman soundtrack is No.1 on consumption of 2,754 units (57 CDs, 53 vinyl albums, 33 digital downloads and 2,611 sales-equivalent streams).

Apparently they just dgaf, but it should have happened already 20 years ago for every WB albums.

The 20th, 25th and 30th anniversaries have all come.and gone and there's been nothing on the music side. I googled it and apparently all of these anniversaries have seen various releases such as tie-in comic books, DVD releases and such. But the soundtrack seems to be just gathering dust for them. It's kind of weird that they'd be happy to just let it pass by without at least trying to make a quick buck out of it. But I guess Warner Bros are kind of famous for their bad decisions so it's not too surprising.

Batman was also excluded from every greatest hits package until FOREVER in 2016.
Couldn't the WB music branch and the WB cinema branch find an agreement, seriously?

I understand Batdance contained many samples from the movie, but The single version of Partyman contained no sample from the movie ( unless you consider it is in fact part of the movie itself!), So it made no sense.

Partyman was also released on a maxi-single circa 1993 ( Peach IIRC).

It seems that TVBOP leaves exactly the time to insert Batdance, but that the idea was scrapped at the last minute and couldn't replace it by another hit

I think the 1993 hits package could have benefited more from Batdance, Partyman and Scandalous, instead of some tracks that weren't real hits ( mainly the 1979 and 1980 singles)
