Good to see some youngsters on here. His music is timeless, and if I could get into The Beatles and a bunch of 60s and 70s acts in my teens in the late 90s, teenagers can do the same with Prince's music today.

28. Been a fan ever since the Super Bowl performance in 07, was 11 then. Gradually became a mega fan. By the time I was in high school I was obsessed.. getting into bootlegs, made an account on the org (under a different account then) watching listening and reading pretty much anything I could find on him.

53 years old....

My awareness of Prince (above and beyond his first couple of hit songs – I Wanna To Be Your Lover, Controversy- that were in the general atmosphere) started in 1982.

After hearing the songs "1999" and "Little Red Corvette" on the radio, a friend played the whole 1999album for me. My 8th grade mind was blown, and I've been a fan ever since.

While my fandom has ebbed and flowed through the years (the release of Newpower Soul was my own personal low point), I have been consistently amazed by Prince's music and live performances through the years.

And yes, that includes his post "golden era" work from the 90's through his death.

While the seven-year run from Dirty Mind through Lovesexy was an unmatched period of excellence, many of his later albums (Rainbow Children, Art Official Age, 3121,The Gold Experience) I enjoy just as much.

You are young, it shows. Plus, you've still been a child longer than you've been an adult if you think about it. 36 is that point. You're an adult at 18 years old. So twice that is 36, and that's the tipping point where you're suddenly an adult longer than you were a child.

If you have a problem with me, text me. If you don't have my number, you don't know me well enough to have a problem with me.

I have nothing but respect for all of us here, but damn!...

you mean you even lived through the whole Beatle Mania era and the mysterious wonderful 60's?

Woooooooow!!!!

Hell, yeah. Through the late 1950s when Buddy Holly died (I was 11)...and all the different sounds since.

Prince is the best of all of them.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Wow so you were a full-on adult by the time Prince came around. That's odd. Usually one's tastes are established as a teen, then nothing after measures up.

Did u have a fave as a teen?
