Never thought of that actually being possible on a Prince tour : - "I was smoking cigarettes at the time, too, but I never smoked in front of him. I smoked weed back then, but I never got high before a show or before a rehearsal. I was never a big drinker. So, when a friend of mine introduced me to cocaine in ’79, I really liked it. Obviously, a lot of people did. And then it just kind of filtered into being on tour with Prince. The road crew was using it to stay awake, so they would invite you to try a little after the show. But I quit cold turkey in September of ’85. By January of ’86, I stopped marijuana, cigarettes, everything. I went completely clean and never touched anything for 33 years.
