Like I get everyone here loves his art and whatever, that doesn't mean you gotta go full white knight mounting your steed taking on any and every person who critiques a personal action or two.

Maybe the dude could've probably hung around less teenage girls and we could leave it at that?

No need for this ticky tack elementary school head-in-sand legalise-ridden delineation of events. "YOU weren't there. YOU don't know that horny dude who writes 90% of his songs about sex was considering sex interacting with 17-year-old models or belly dancers while he was moving them into his spare sex dungeon at Paisley Park! Maybe YOU are the perv!"

Like, have some dignity, why even sink to that low level of cringe in the first place? Just keep it moving, people.

You see, the thing is this is not about inappropriate interactions with teenage girls.

It is about Prince giving a tape of unreleased music to Naomi Campbell. In the words of Vannormal "By the way, a typical behaviour of Prince at the time, who gave tapes easily to others."

There is no white knight finely delineated defense, just a "hold on you are equating sharing music now with sex dungeons". Which is by the way, a whole new level of cringe way wose than specifically stating that the age of consent is the issue in this thread then denying that they said it was ever the issue in the thread.

Yes, it would have been better if you did not sink this far and you just moved on. After all you have shared no interest at all in what the tape could have been - Which is the actual topic.

This came up some years ago and going from memory I think it was confirmed with her that it was the Black Album

It makes sense as it is the one that would have been most on his mind at the time. And we know how Prince wanted to rapidly move on to the next album.

But it is nonsense.

There is no indication what-so-ever that this sharing of a music tape was anything more than that. The only pointer to Prince and Naomi Campbell having a relationship was when she was 24 or 25 and even this can be considered dubious.

There simply is not any requirement that dancers and models can only have friends that want to have sex with them. There simply is no requirement that the giving of a music tape by anyone, especially the artist who made the music to a dancer turned model, must be in exchange for sex - even if some of the songs on that tape are about sex. There is no reason for a reasonable person to not be able delineate between sharing music with a friend and seeking to move a person into a sex dungeon.

It is like some people here don't know that dancers and models generally hang around people that are older than them, that popular musicians generally have fans who younger than them, especially if their first album was around a decade before the fan met the artist. And finally, offering advise on how Prince should have lived in 1986/7 nearly 40 years later is not sensible, especially as it is also 8 years after Prince died.

When it comes to sex, some (religious driven) Americans (no not you, or anyone here) immediately want to play law and justice.

Don't forget, the US still has the biggest porn industry in the world. They invented the sticker 'explicit lyrics'. It always makes me laugh how big the discrepancy is. Funny, right?

(Don't get me wrong about USA or Americans, It's the country I love and visit the most.)
Again, Prince's mouth was overflowing with sex, but that doesn't make him a stallion. This has been proven by numerous interviews (and insights over time) with the women who were intimate with him. 'The mouth speaks what the heart is full of', right?

Prince rarely practiced what he preached. He was a child in bed who wanted to play with girls, not a sex beast as he sang songfully, and actually mostly wanted to be imho.

Now, this must be THE mystery of Prince; did he do it or not, and with whom? Sure no one of us was there. But there is so much information, and t keeps on comming out.
By the way, nobody here is a pervert, and certainly not Prince.

And, Naomi Campbell... if she had something going on with Prince (whenever that was in her time frame) - which I doubt - certainly had talked about it in interviews, which she (still) didn't do.

'Keep it moving folks.' wink

Peace to us all, there's already enough war in the world.

He gave tapes to women when he wanted some drawers. He regularly gave tapes to women (and the occasional teenage girl). End of thread.

This makes much more sense than all the bullshit imagining something just because Prince gave someone a tape.

He regularly gave tapes to people of all genders and it is only in your imagination that it was only "when he wanted some drawers." Surely he could just go to the local furniture store, clothing store or drawing club.

These tapes are a well known major source of bootlegs.

No you're wrong, Prince got his drawers from Ikea, purple ones by the way, lesbian 'lila' purple in fact.

LOL

OH MY GOD, it was all Naomi's fault that The Black Album got worldwide bootlegged!

I don't think it would be appropriate to gift an album with "Cindy C" to "Naomi C." - so I rule out the Black Album lol

Well, I know of at least three different tapes I heard in the 90's that were played for me by males that Prince gave them to, one of which is a fairly well known musician. Prince liked to give tapes to anyone he respected or admired. I'm not saying that he never gave them out with the intent of getting laid, (though I really don't think he'd need to do that. Women seemed more than willing just because he was Prince), just that I know of three specific exceptions to that rule.

Back to the topic,

my guess is also that it could be (even) the unreleased Parade album, since it was in Paris where they met. The exact date they met is important here.
It could also be the Black Album (in the works), or Roadhouse Garden (in the works), or just a collection of songs Prince was working on at the time.
Did Naomi Campbell ever confirm this?

We could as her, she's on social media...

Ah so he met a high class model over in Paris France did he?

blah blah blah

As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, I know the difference between "hanging out" and someone trying to groom a person. Do you really think that someone as outspoken as Naomi Campbell would have kept silent about grooming?

"Many 16 years olds", age of consent, grooming, etc. This is getting out of hand. There's a thing called nuance, you know? I'm all for people discussing Prince's relationships with Anna/Mayte Garcia (just realized they share the same family name lol), but can we stick to facts, please?
