I feel like I can gauge how casual a Prince fan is by how much they drink the Sheila E. kool-aid. [Edited 6/12/24 18:04pm]

I don't know why Sheila E. is behaving the way she does. Everybody has issues, I guess.

sheila is def a bit 'off' (or odd) since prince died. which on one hand is understandable, grief does weird things to people, esp if their relationship sounds as inconsistent yet intense as theirs was (who really knows what happened). so theres def something weird about certain things she has said/done since. i think she did genuinely 100% LOVE him though, and it sounds like it wasnt exactly requited, which can do weird things to a person, if they dont appear to be able to get past it (doesnt look like she can or has done). all that aside though, i kinda dont care. lets face it, she was one of the very best drummers he ever had (did he ever have a better band than in 87/88?), he gave her more songs than any other protege/satellite act he worked with, their working relationship continued longer than maybe anyone else he worked with (yeah he did some things with the time and W&L in the later years, but doesnt seem like it was as much), so there was something there between them that made him continue to do that. so regardless of all the public stuff and romantic history, he seemed to still like working with her, which is more than you can say for most of his band members. she deserves a bit of respect for that.

Yet again Sheila is trying to make this anniversary event celebrating Prince about herself. Opportunistic and ugly behaviour.

I love her to bits...but she said she was not alowed to do a video in one of the actual studios... she was alowed in the building... I can see why she is upset but I can also see the managment saying no... it was a little weird. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Do you think she could just turn up at Paisley Park and head to a studio when Prince was alive? Serious question. Do you think they had that close a relationship? I can’t see it myself. I don’t think he’d have even answered the door.

Contrarily, I believe that Sheila would have always been his guest of honor at PP in total freindship. At any rate, it doesn't matter.
