That must be very challenging to change the sides 12 times to listen to the whole album.I hope to live that one day.

Any differences with the CD version ?

No changes in the material at all, just that it's presented as Emancipation I-VI instead of I-III. I would say some of the stuff on the CDs that is mastered too loud sounds better on the records. Which is precisely why I'm looking forward to Crystal Ball since in my opinion it is the worst offender of the loudness wars and most in need of a better sonic experience.

Spread out as 3 songs and an average of 15 minutes per side, there's plenty of room for the grooves to breathe, it might be a lot of disc flipping but it beats the alternative.

Besides, I'll probably never listen to the whole thing from beginning to end again, I have the CDs and digital files for that. When I'm playing records I'm more likely to pick one, or even one side, then pick another album, or even one side of that album, and so on. In fact, this was the first time I've listened to Emancipation from beginning to end in I don't know how long. I bet it's been 25 years. I love a lot of the material on the album but don't enjoy it much as a 3 hour whole. So, it was fun and interesting to do that again after so long, but it might be another 25 years.

Love it on vinyl. Sides 1,3,5,6,8 & 12 are about all I need from this album. I enjoy being able to spin any of those sides in any configuration I choose and the vinyl subtly tones down the plasticity of the production.

"tones down the plasticity" -well put! It's a lot of flipping, but handling records is hardly the hard part of the day.
