The only one I've been able to see was the Lovesexy Tour in Los Angeles. I think it was the first of two nights. It was pretty incredible. I had a seat just up and to the right of Sheila's drums. I was only slightly above eye level with her. So a very good seat. It was magical, and it changed my life. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

Lovesexy was my first one - amazing show...horrible seats.
Jam of the year - another amazing show. Face Down! Had an absolute blast at this one.
Prince W/ Chaka and Larry at the Aragon in Chicago in like 97 or 98 I think? We were feet from the stage...watching/listening to him on guitar
Musicology was my last one unfortunately. It was a great show...but my friend ended up getting sick the night before so couldn't make it. I couldn't find anyone to go with me so I went alone. Still fun as I met a lot of cool fellow fans...but it was sorta bummer.

Gold tour - wembley arena, london, 1995 The new power soul tour with gcs and chaka khan plus the aftershow - wembley arena The ona tour - hammersmith apollo The 2007 Tour at the o2 in london plus aftershow The hit n run show with 3eg in 2014 IIRC Apart from never seeing the 80s shows (too young) my big regret is never seeeing the final tour I so wanted to see him do a minimal show like that for the longest and was amazed he finally did it [Edited 4/27/24 2:05am] |

1990. August 30. Tokyo Japan. The Big Egg. I was a gaijin in high school. My best friend and I and his girlfriend went. Terrible seats but we were huge fans and the show blew us away. Twice in 1997 for the Jam of the Year Tour. Both in Texas. I dragged my wife to see him, she was reluctant, but five minutes in she squeezed my arm and purred, “He’s soooo sexy!” 2000 in Houston for the Hit and Run Tour. Had amazing seats right in front! So loud. Insane energy. Probably my favorite show. 2004, again in Houston, for the Musicology Tour. |

I was at this show. It was April 1998. Friday night. I had a broken foot from playing basketball and was on crutches and they had a little handicapped section roped off up in the balcony with a PERFECT view. It was just me and this girl in a wheelchair up there all night. He did three or four Prince songs the entire night "Face Down" a really long version of "Days of Wild" full of cussing and "Purple Rain" and maybe one other - everything else was covers mostly Sly and Rufus. Didn't matter. He was wearing a white suit and he had a white baby grand piano on stage he was jumping off of into splits. I lost count of how many times he used the word "fuck." He played like he was angry - I am telling you that little motherfucker played like he was trying to convince a jury he wasn't the murderer. It was absolutely unreal. Easily in the top 5 of the greatest things I will ever experience in this life or any other. |
