LOL yeah I'd forgotten about that, after he had us running around trying to find him a string quartet for the Opera House shows, the same way he had us running around NYC record stores looking for bootlegs two years earlier, both times we soon realised that was just P being P and both things were totally pointless haha

Just seen on a Facebook comment by Vicki Norby Rivkin (the wife of Bobby Z) in relation to an article about Prince’s Purple Rain concert at the Orange Bowl in Miami 1985, in which she said, “We stayed in Coconut Grove” in the “Mayfair” hotel. This would have been for the final show of the Purple Rain tour on 7 April 1985. The hotel was newly opened in 1985.

Saw on a Facebook post that when playing in Ghent, Belgium, Prince stayed at the Amigo Hotel next to the Grand Place in Brussels.

Just heard a neat story of hotel bellman who worked at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Detroit, that Prince stayed at in early April 1993 for the Act I shows at the Fox Theatre there. The bellman let Prince into his room while singing International Lover, then Prince accompanied him on a baby grand piano.
