Great little trowaway track, great baseline, great warm synths, and would've been perfect as opener for side 2 of Lovesexy. That great chorus with much chord changes. We really need a clear studio version of this one. At least I do. I once made a slowed down version of it, to enjoy it 'longer'. Gonna dig that up again. Kangaroo !

It's a bit 'busy'. I have the same issue with a lot of Sheila E tracks too. There's just too much going on too quickly, and it just gets a bit much. It's like being in a room full of extroverts and everyone's fighting for attention.
An edited version (with the full length as a 12" version) would probably have been easier of the ears. blah blah blah |

A lot of the songs from that era were busy (or overproduced, depending on your appreciation of said songs). That was Prince exploring what he could do with 48 tracks instead of 24 tracks. And that was brilliant, I think. [Edited 4/18/24 23:59pm] |

I fully agree. Imagine a Dolby Atmos of all those tracks. Discovering new unheard sounds, production, arrangements... I can dream about this all day and night. Kurwa!
