https://www.independent.c...29114.html I'm pretty curious. I love the Batman album but even I'd be the first to admit; of all the Prince albums you could be influenced by... I'd assume it's something to do with the songs coming from the POV of different characters.

Conceptiually, the Batman album is pretty unique (I believe).

Batdance always reminded me of Queen's "Flash" (in a good way, because I love both songs).

Take away all of the dialogue from the album, and all of the Batman references, and you still have a great album.

You kind of knew this dude had to be an admirer....he wore some dollar store version of Prince outfit last year. It was like Dollarama meets Under the Cherry Moon or something.

For me, the dialogue samples really hurt the album. If you removed those, I think the album would be much better... at least for me personally.

Literally the liner notes contain more Batman allusions than the album itself.

The biggest crock in concept album history. I'm consistently floored how many people buy into this "different characters" B.S., when literally every track is the same Prince "character" delivered from his usual perspective with his usual artistic voice and usual lyrics and usual party funk (despite the movie being dark, foreboding and ya know, the complete opposite of upbeat party funk).

The worst part was him bringing back the cheeseball Adam West theme when Tim Burton worked so hard for 120 minute runtime to make the entire audience ignore the 60s version. At least Prince didn't ruin the sequel, he would've probably saw goth dreamland Catwoman, bile-spewing Penguin and called up Tony M. to spit fiyah over some whack rap beats. "As Bruce Wayne," of course... give me a break.

First album that got me hooked - I was (still am) a comic book geek and was hyped for the movie and everything about it - I was aware of Prnce's music but it wasn't until Batman that I truly fell in love with his music. I still rate it highly, although I don't listen to it as much as I once did!
