Prince (album) Ballads Appreciation Can we talk/appreciate these beautiful songs? . When We're Dancing Close & Slow With You Still Waiting It's Gonna Be Lonely . For most of my years as a Prince fan I've criminally overlooked these songs as I always felt they interrupted the flow of the record. But wow - these songs are so beautifully and tenderly crafted! . It's Gonna Be Lonely is probably my favorite of the bunch with WWDC&S and With You following behind. Let's talk about these songs and how you felt when you first heard them! |

It's Gonna Be Lonely is fantastic and one of my favourite Prince Ballads, such a great vocal arrangement. When we're Dancing Close and Slow has a great slightly psychedelic vibe to that I love. However I think With You is the weakest song on the album. It's just a bit too sweet for my taste. Something BIG Is Coming. |

it's an absolute great track. Yes he was super young, come to think of it. In 2013, he played it one more time live at the Montruex Jazz festival (7-15-2013 to be precise) It sounded completely different. Even his singing was completely different, as if it was a new song. "Still Waiting" is the song that turned my mother into a Prince fan.She was telling us about this amazing song she had heard,but didn't know who the artist was.The next thing I knew,I come home from school and she's got the Prince album and she's playing "Still Waiting" over and over and over,lol. | |
