the PR SDE is a given - if they get it out in june, to really mark the anniversary, then that would be amazing (and surprising) but ive a feeling it might be later in the year so they have more time, considering that the D&P SDE was released late 2023.

if they release a symbol SDE too that would be cool, though i imagine this would be a smaller release, well hopefully, as i dont want a padded out SDE with endless sexy mf and MNIP clean edits and remixes lol.

It would be really strange to release it after the real anniversary date, that is on june. I mean, What's the point to release an anniversary release if it s months after the anniversary date ? If it's already on stores on the 25th june, it could benefit from combined free press/media coverage and then ephemerous public interest. The thing is, we are already only 5 months from june, and for the previous SDEs, we had leaks (tracklist, packaging, collector singles, even release date and the price !) months and months before the actual official announcement of the date of the release by the estate ! We are far from that at this moment right now. If it was to be released in june, we would already know about it, and the estate would have interest in hyping the product right now. So I don't think a PR SDE is a given for this year, because they would completely miss the mark of the anniversary date anyway, so that would give them more time to finalize it.

On the one hand, yes, releasing an anniversary edition outside the correct anniversary date is not logical and offends my OCD.

But on the other hand, the general public doesn't care about anniversary dates. Not even a little. Which means the causal fan, who is their primary target audience after all, wouldn't notice or care. Of course us hardcore fans would gripe about it, but we're not going to refrain from purchasing it because it's a month late or a month early.

Beside, they'll likely promote it as the anniverary year of Purple Rain, not the anniversary month, which would meany they could release it any time from January to December and it would count.

The difference is that the current estate gives plenty of reasons for fans to complain.

I hear you. As far as I can remember, we also had plenty of reasons to complain back in the 90s and even in the 80s, but we didn't (really) have the internet to complain, back then.

Considering that The Estate seems to be controlled by L. Londell McMillan and Charles F. Spicer Jr, I predict a less-than-stellar year.

Probably will have new PJ's on sale.Maybe another hoodie or scarf.

I think there will be the launch of some sort of vault website this year.
