Can Prince sing songs that require mixed head like Adam Lambert's No Boundaries and Panic at the Disco "Into the Unknown Hi guys. I truly believe Prince is a vocal legend. BUT i have not heard him use his head/chest mixed voice in his songs. Would just like to ask your opinions. Can he sing heady mixed voice songs like those of Adam Lambert's "No Boundaries", Panic at the Disco's "Into the Unknown" and Bruno Mars (Versace on the Floor) Thank you guys for your opinions. God bless us all!

Hmm. Can you explain more about "mixed head"? You mean when a vocalist slides from their chest to their head with their voice? I listened to the songs you listed but I am not quite getting what you mean... "New Power slide...."

I listened to the songs you listed but I am not quite getting what you mean... I mean like mixed notes (combination of chest/head) especially in the fifth octave, which are the trademarks of the singers i mentioned. The singers i mentioned often use techniques of singing not in pure chest voice, as evidenced in the songs i have mentioned. Do you think Prince can sing the mentioned songs above?

I mean, yeah. How familiar are you with Prince catalogue? I'd encourage you to check this discussion out: - https://prince.org/msg/7/436465#:~:text=That%20makes%20Prince's%20vocal%20range,6%20octaves%20and%204%20semitones.

Sorry for the copy and paste. The direct link isn't working. Basically, it details that Prince had a 5 (maybe 6 octave range).

Here's another insightful bit of documentation on Prince's vocal range: - "New Power slide...."

"Background Vocal, Composer, Lyricist, Co- Producer: Kara DioGuardi" This song is just average and not even completely sung by Mr. Lambert. So, Prince is Adam's hero. "Whatever skin we're in

This is how someone would sing at a musical. Hopefully noone would try to recreate Prince songs for the sta... ...oh, shit "Whatever skin we're in

Bruno is a great entertainer, but a great vocalist, he ain't. He always sounds so strained. "Whatever skin we're in

[Edited 1/27/24 10:28am] Thanks for your reply. I must say, yes, he can hit those notes. However, when Prince goes to the 5th octave, his mix doesn't sound like head voice but rather sounds either like a scream or a falsetto. So in my opinion, yes, he can produce those sounds just like adam lambert does, but he needs to practice them still to make his mix sound more powerful. All in all, Prince is truly a vocal legend who can access all registers outstandingly. One of the greatest singers of all time.

Yup. Prince already did his own musical. No one ever listened to the song "graffiti bridge?" Showtune to the purple max. "New Power slide...."

I believe he can do better than adam lambert, brendon urie and bruno mars in hitting those 5th octave notes, right?

Yes, Prince can STILL sing better than everyone the jrelento83 mentioned. Even in the multiverse. "Whatever skin we're in
