RNR LOVE AFFAIR

Loving the Jamie Lewis Stripped Down mix of this -I'm guessing the guitar work is by Prince - so did he add additional production to the mix or what??

According to PrinceVault:

"Remix production by Jamie Lewis. Additional keys by grooveprofessor. "

So we are to assume the rhythm guitar was already somehwere on the stems/tracks that Jamie received. Seems odd as the sound of it doesn't fit the style of the Prince versions.

...it's like i still think that Prince did that Prince-ly guitar lick on "She Drives Me Crazy" by the Fine Young Cannibals cuz the song was produced by David Z at Paisley Park.

But, maybe, just maybe, it coulda been the P on the six string...

David Z talks about recording ‘She Drives Me Crazy’ in this article:

https://www.mixonline.com...azy-375247

“What really made the guitars stand out, though, was that as Andy [Cox] was playing to chord parts, I was slowly twisting the EQ from one extreme to the other, giving it this wah effect,” says Z. “So every part on the record has a very individual and unique sound. But there aren't many parts at all, so the space between them becomes part of the sound.”

So not Prince on guitar on it.
There may or may not be something coming!

I've wondered about that version as well because that rhythm guitar all over it is absolutely wonderful cool

I have similarly wondered about the rhythm guitar in the Espresso remix of Breakfast Can Wait. It’s great, but I don’t know whether it’s Prince or Josh.
