Found it like 2 days ago… the only frustrating thing is that they keep talking over it and there seems to be frequent drops in audio quality, seemed to me like a cut up rehearsal or a mix using already known versions of the song or something… didn’t seem legit at first listen

It's difficult to say....for me it is a work in progress alternate demo version of CB ?

It's difficult to say....for me it is a work in progress alternate demo version of CB ?


Hmmm perhaps an alternate take of the St Louis Park Warehouse version (CB #3 from Work It 2.0)? I thought maaaaaybe… if only Questlove provided more context or we could listen to the full version without the voice overs and drops.

Finally after some other researches with some who know (thanx to them) the second part of the song "work out" part is indeed a rehearsal part mixed with the song we know since decades !

Okay, so what episode of which podcast is this on?

I didn’t find it on any podcast I just googled Prince - Hard 2 get Vol.11 and it was there it’s track 3

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! First truly useful post in this thread.

EDIT: It's alright, but yeah, Questlove's interruptions are obnoxious as hell. It's a fun mashup, but nothing to write home about, IMO...which is good because if it were so incredible, Questlove's interruptions would be rage-inducing.

I just listened to it. It is funky, but it actually gets a bit tedious with the repetative "everybody work out" over and over again.

Just for reference:

- This is track 3 on CD 2 of "Hard 2 Get Volume Eleven"

- Track duration: 14:40

- This was released by Silverline

- "(c) 2022" but the files I have in my archive are from March 2023

- this is a "fan-made" (Questlove-made) mix consisting of studio and rehearsal stuff

- I don't know if the rehearsal in question is circulating (does anybody know?)

- it was live-streamed on April 17, 2020 by Questlove (Prince nights at #QuestosWreckaStow, night 2, The Cannon) (thanks ElGorillos!)

well i didnt know, and neither did anyone else .. i see now that QL likes to mix stuff up , so its not a full song, i was wrong

i am not much of a fan of QL's stuff anymore .....

feels like such a rip off
